Team Avant Coeur

Competitive Gymnastics for Boys and Girls 7 to 18 years old

The athletes and coaches of Team Avant Coeur comprise one of the most successful gymnastics programs in all of Region 2 (Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Hawaii). If you are looking for a home for FUN and exciting team gymnastics, give us a call at 208-772-9443!

Avant Coeur is the name of our Competitive Gymnastics Team. Our mission is simple:

“We exist to provide every athlete in our developmental and competitive team programs with a rewarding and fulfilling experience through the building of character, and "Heart Above All" (The French "Avant Coeur" means Heart First or Heart Above All). We are working towards this by focusing on respect for themselves and others, time management skills, self discipline, development of competitive abilities, dedication to a team, strong work habits, goal setting ability, a love of exercise and an overall sense of accomplishment in their endeavors. In short, an attitude of “never less that the best we can do”.

Boys and Girls Compulsory Teams

The Avant Coeur Boys and Girls Compulsory Teams are comprised of athletes at all ages competing at Levels 4-6. The team will typically compete at seven to eight meets per year.

Boys and Girls Optional Teams

The Avant Coeur Boys and Girls Optional Teams are comprised of athletes at all ages competing at Levels 7-10. The team will typically compete at ten to twelve meets per year.

TOPs and HOPEs

Invitational Training Groups

The IEGA TOPs-HOPEs program is an invitational program designed to provide intensive conditioning and skills development for athletes who qualify according to the USAG TOPs standards.

The USAG TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program) is a talent search and educational program for female gymnast ages 7-11 and their coaches. During the months of June and July gymnasts age 7-11 are evaluated on physical abilities at the state or regional level.

From there, athletes are invited to participate in the National TOP test that is conducted in the month of October where they will be evaluated on the same physical abilities tests along with some basic gymnastics skills. Athletes are then invited to participate in the National TOP Training camp which takes place in December of each year.

IEGA's Manager of Gymnastics Programs and Head Optional Girls Team Coach, Lisa Adlard, is the Idaho State Director of TOPs, and brings a wealth of knowledge to our gym.
